When the students of ADEKUNLE AJASIN University AKUNGBA-AKOKO return to their class-rooms after the end of this lengthy strike action by their lecturers, they definitely will be sending some prayers to the PROF. FEMI MIMIKO led management team for the good work which they have done during the strike.
The management has been trying to put in place all necessary things to ensure that the school truly becomes a 21st century university like they want it to be. A fire-fighter service has been put in place to help fight against any emergency situation on campus. Also, the covered pavilion which can seat about one thousand people has been completed at the school stadium, wooden chairs have been brought in to replace the plastic chairs which some students break regularly. CCTV cameras have also been put in strategic location on campus to check the activities of students.
Speaking with comrade CAMPUS LIFE, ADENIYI JULIUS
The president of the student union government hailed the new development and has this to be say “We are extremely grateful to the vice-chancellor for fulfilling his promises to the students and taking our great institution to another height.
I’m sure that the male hostel will soon be completed so that our hostel in Ikare will be in the school premises for the safety of our students”
Another student AKINMIBOSUN ALEX 300 level economics said “We the students are really proud and glad with the achievement so far, PROF MIMIKO is a great man of vision and despite our low school fees, he is still ensuring that the 21st century vision of the school is going on. OLUSEGUN TAIWO, 300 level geography and planning sciences says I think we are getting there academically and structurally but there is need for improvement.”
Another student who didn’t want his name to be mentioned said “I think the recent development ranging from the gymnasium, covered pavilion and the ongoing boys hostel is long overdue, because as tertiary institution ,we should have had all those longtime ago. It is not something to boast of that the male hostel is located outside of the school premises.”
